About Us
Gyan-Setu, started in 2013, was a brainchild of late Mr. Vivek Ponkshe and his students, who came up with the innovative idea of “national integration through science popularization”. It is an initiative by the Educational Activity Research Centre (EARC) of Jnana Prabodhini (JP) conducting hands-on science workshops at schools in the remote and underdeveloped parts of India.
Gyan-Setu invites volunteers of all ages from across India to “spread the joy of learning”, while also building “human bridges” to connect with the remote communities of India. The volunteer teams travel to the developmentally challenged states in the North-East (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya), Central (Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand), as well as Northern India (Jammu & Kashmir). With the support from Gyan-Setu’s local partner organizations, they conduct science workshops in the schools, along with exploring the way of life and the challenges faced by these communities.
We invite you to be a part of this journey and learn more about how we can “connect people through knowledge exchange” and grow together!
